It's an ordinary mountain road to the view spot, so be careful when choosing shoes and elderly people. From the view spot, you can see Shimoguri no Sato below. The village of Shimoguri that clings to the mountains is beautiful. It seems that the road to the view spot is maintained by the kindness of the locals, so if you are impressed by the view, I would definitely like to cooperate with the donation. It's a very good place! I visited for the first time on 6/12 (Sat), but I was impressed. The distance from the parking lot to the observatory is also good, and most of the road is shaded by trees, so I could walk comfortably without receiving the hot sunlight. I saw a snake on the way (^^)

Walk for 15-20 minutes from the nearby lodge. The road was well maintained and it was easy to walk, so I enjoyed it very much.

The map will guide you to a road that takes about 30 minutes, but in reality, you can walk in the mountains according to the signboard on the site, and you can reach it in about 20 minutes from the parking lot. The scenery was so good that it was selected as one of the 100 best Japanese villages.

The place on GoogleMap is near the entrance to the observatory, and it is actually farther back (about 600m?). Since parking is prohibited, you have to stop at "Shimogurinosato Parking Lot" and climb the slope. The undulations of the mountain road are not very rough, and it may be rather tiring to climb from the parking lot to the entrance. The road is only wide enough to pass each other, but I think that the handrails are well maintained in places where the footing is poor. There are donation boxes at the entrance and the observatory, so you can cooperate in maintenance and maintenance.
