★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 京都大学医学部構内の建物であるが、医学部だけでなく、生命科学研究科の半分ほどの研究室と医学研究科の社会健康医学系専攻の研究室が階を分けて入居している。2004年ほどに完成した新しい研究棟。別名、ネオサイエンス2棟と呼ばれている。これは生命科学研究科のための建物として、2番めになっていることのようである。ネオサイエンス1棟は南隣の先端科学研究棟のことを指すという。かつて同じ名前を冠していたG棟は今の芝蘭会館のあたりにあった大正時代の建物で衛生学、公衆衛生学講座のものであった。
 The building is located on the campus of Kyoto University School of Medicine, but not only the School of Medicine, but also about half of the laboratories of the Graduate School of Life Sciences and the laboratories of the Graduate School of Medicine, Department of Social Health Medicine, are located on separate floors. A new research building completed around 2004. Another name is Neo Science 2 Building. This seems to be the second building for the Graduate School of Life Sciences. One Neoscience building is said to refer to the Advanced Science Research Building next to the south. Building G, which used to bear the same name, was a building in the Taisho era near the Shirankaikan, which was for hygiene and public health courses.
