I highly recommend you to visit the Tower of the Sun. Inside was interesting!
It's a bit far from the center of Osaka city but better to go there by train.
If you go there by car, you have to walk a bit from the parking lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful park. Visited on a weekday afternoon in mid-November, very few people at the park (but can imagine it will get super crowded in cherry blossom season). Lovely view, everything is well maintained, plenty of toilets everywhere. Great place for a relaxing walk or picnic. But not much else to do if you don't enjoy nature. There are a few children playgrounds and museums which I didn't have time to visit. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Osaka. It's located near a big shopping mall, nice place to get dinner after visiting the park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m giving 4 star only for the rose garden and the train, which my kids like a lot. Apart from that nothing much here. You can consider this place for a day long paying destination with your kids. Apart from that in terms of activities or site seeing there is nothing. Also, tor playing with kids you need to bring your own things with you. For parking need to pay 400¥. For train it will 350¥ per person. Anyone above 3 years old need ticket to ride the train.
Another good point, right after you get in there is a lake or you can say pond, it has lots of fishes. They are so friendly. By the lake side wherever you talk they come close. We were really surprised with this. It was like they can listen us and they were following us.
