王将など駅中にテナントありますが、あまり行きたいと思える店がありませんでした。
 It was renovated long ago and was clean.
There are tenants around the station, such as King Sho, but there was no store that I wanted to go to.

ICOCAが導入されますね。駅ナカの店が少ないです。ミスタードーナツの裏も空いています。
All station employees are kind. From next March
ICOCA will be introduced. There are few shops in the station Naka. The back of Mr. Donut is also free.

夜はライトアップされています。
特急の停車駅です。
駅の北側は広いスペースがあります。
大きな木があるのですが夕方や朝方は鳥の鳴き声がすごいことになってます。
ちゅん、ちゅん攻撃です。
木の近くは通らない方が良いかと。
鳥のフンが落ちてくる可能性があるので。
木の近くの地面を見るとえらいことになっていますので。
注意して下さいね。

The night is lit up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅舎ビルは、JR西日本と京都タンゴ鉄道が共用している、なかなかユニークなデザインの建物です。
これだけ大きな駅にもかかわらず、いまだにICOCA未対応のため、降車時には駅員さんにきっぶを渡さねばなりません。
駅舎内には売店を兼ねたセブン、ミスド、王将と居酒屋が２、３件入ってますが、いろいろお店のバリエーションを選びたい向きには、南方向に歩いて5～10分ほどの国道沿いに出た方がいいでしょう。
The station building is a uniquely designed building that is shared by JR West and Kyoto Tango Railway.
Despite being such a big station, IOCCA is still not supported, so you have to give the staff a ticket when getting off.
There are a few shops including Seven, Misudo, Osho and Izakaya in the station building, but if you want to choose a variety of shops, walk south for about 5-10 minutes along the national road. You should go to

ここから城崎や舞鶴、天橋立へ移動するための要所となります。
いつもオートバイや車で来ることが多い地区ではありますが、今回はここから宮津、天橋立を経て網野まで「京丹後鉄道」通称「丹鉄」の列車に乗るため来ました。
駅自体は高架化され、福知山線、山陰本線、丹鉄がこの駅に乗り入れています。
大阪、京都からはJR西日本の特急が乗り入れてきており、冬の時期は「松葉かに」目当ての観光客などが多くこのエリアに来ます。
しかし、京都市内のように海外のお客様が来ることはまだ少ないようでそれも課題になっているそうです

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 信じがたいことですが、2020年8月の時点でもなお113系の姿を見ることができました(舞鶴方面の列車に使われていました)。
大河ドラマで注目を集めている福知山城は、この駅から山陰本線の上り列車に乗ると左手によく見えます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 福知山線と京都丹後鉄道宮福線の駅です。京都丹後鉄道は2階のホームで、JR福知山線は3階のホームです。ただし、3階から改札のある1階まで直行のエスカレーターがあります。
It is a station on the Fukuchiyama Line and the Kyoto Tango Railway Miyafuku Line. The Kyoto Tango Railway is the platform on the 2nd floor, and the JR Fukuchiyama Line is the platform on the 3rd floor. However, there is a direct escalator from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor with the ticket gate.
