明治42年，西宮神社（兵庫県）より勧請されて薬師寺境内に祀ったのがはじまり。昭和44年に現在地に遷座。

It began in 1902 when it was solicited by Nishinomiya Shrine (Hyogo Prefecture) and enshrined in the precincts of Yakushiji Temple. Moved to the present location in 1969.
