★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 築170年以上と言われる初代掛川市長の鈴木理一郎邸が至近にある。一般公開されていませんが、素晴らしいお庭と建物が残されています。
街道歩きの際などには立ち寄ってみたいポイントです。
Riichiro Suzuki's residence, the first mayor of Kakegawa, said to be over 170 years old, is nearby. Although it is not open to the public, wonderful gardens and buildings remain.
This is the point you want to stop by when walking on the highway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 伊達方(だてがた)一里塚は江戸日本橋より57里目。日坂宿、遠江國一之宮・事任八幡宮(ことのままはちまんぐう)を過ぎて1粁程。
一里塚跡は塚本体は無く、少し道路から仕切られて碑があるくらいだが、一里塚跡から10m程京都寄りの滑川橋に、この旧東海道が一號國道(国道１号線)に指定された当時を偲ばせる歴史的遺物が残されている。尤も道路面から上には出ていなくて、地中に埋もれてしまっているのが非常に残念ではあるが。
Dategata Ichirizuka is 57th ri from Edo Nihonbashi. About 1 km past Nissaka-shuku, Toe Kuniichinomiya and Kotonomamahachimangu.
The Ichirizuka ruins do not have the main body of the mound, and there is a monument that is separated from the road a little, but at the time when this old Tokaido was designated as the Ichirizuka National Highway (National Highway No. 1) at the Yuikawa Bridge near Kyoto about 10 m from the Ichirizuka ruins. There are historical relics that are reminiscent of them. It's a pity that it doesn't go up from the road surface and is buried in the ground.
