市	市村寿男 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真言宗御室派のお寺で十一面観音を本尊とし、聖徳太子が蘇我馬子に命じて建てたとの伝えがある。江戸期の宇陀松山藩主・織田高長が祈願所を置いたのを機に藩主家で保護されるようになった由。明治になって火災にあい、多くの文化財をなくしたが、本尊は面相、両手を亡くしたものの土中から発見され、「焼けずの観音」と呼ばれる。境内の毘沙門堂は狛犬ならぬ狛虎が護っており、天保14年の作とされる庚申像は「おちゃめ庚申」と呼ばれ、青面金剛像の浮き彫り。境内の手入れが良くされている。薬膳料理屋さんを併設し、これに力を入れられておられるようだ。 It is said that in the temple of the Omuro school of the Shingon sect, the eleven-faced Kannon was the principal deity, and Prince Shotoku ordered the Sogomako to build it.
