★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 宮津藩において最も格式の高い寺院のひとつ。京極氏が藩主であったときに建立され、その後に移ってきた本荘(本庄)氏もここを菩提寺とした。本荘氏は「玉の輿」の語源となったお玉さん=桂昌院の実家が起源。桂昌院が徳川家光の子供(のちに徳川綱吉)を産んだために大名家となった。そのため桂昌院とその後の代々の本荘家の人々を祀る霊屋が客殿にある。「玉の輿」にのる御利益をいただける縁結びの御守りが授与される。
One of the most prestigious temples in the Miyazu clan. It was built when Mr. Kyogoku was the feudal lord, and Mr. Honjo (Honjo), who moved after that, also made this a family temple. Mr. Honjo originated from the parents' house of Mr. Otama = Keishoin, which was the etymology of "Tama no Koshi". Keishōin became a daimyo family because he gave birth to Tokugawa Iemitsu's child (later Tokugawa Tsunayoshi). Therefore, there is a mausoleum in the guest hall that enshrines the people of Keishōin and the Honjo family from generation to generation. A matchmaking omamori will be awarded to the benefit of the "Tama no Koshi".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 宮津散歩中にたまたま見学させていただいたら、凄いお寺でした。400年もの歴史ある浄土宗のお寺です。住職が丁寧に案内してくれました。徳川将軍家ゆかりの品々を多く有しており、毎年のように宮津行った際には同行の知人を案内してます。結婚前の女子には玉の輿のお守りもおすすめしてます。
When I happened to visit the temple while taking a walk in Miyazu, it was a great temple. It is a temple of the Jodo sect with a history of 400 years. The chief priest guided me carefully. We have many items related to the Tokugawa Shogunate, and when we go to Miyazu almost every year, we guide our acquaintances. For pre-marriage girls, we also recommend amulets with balls.
