★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 聖武天皇勅願、行基開基と伝わり、鎌倉期、実詮律師が中興した真言律宗のお寺で本尊は阿弥陀如来、山号は金龍山。境内の裏山は中世に築かれた田原口城跡と言われている。本堂は、鎌倉時代の建物で重要文化財だが、2012年から2016年にかけて奈良県教育委員会・文化財保存事務所によって解体修理され、その過程で地盤沈下の対策が採られた。また、解体修理に伴って堂内に描かれていた彩色画の調査も行われ、復元想像図が公開されているそうだ。
寺宝と言うべき、頂きに三方火焔付き宝珠を蓮台に載せ、魚々子地に蓮華唐草文様を線刻した塔身に鍍金、鍍銀を施した能作生塔(万物生成を司る如意宝珠を納める塔)は国宝で、東京国立博物館にて保管されている。
20/11/06、参拝。堂内に描かれた彩色画を目当てにして出かけたが、ご不在のようだった。高台にあるため、生駒市内が眺められる。
21/09/28、リベンジに伺ったが、前回同様、お寺の方はご不在のようだった。御朱印の郵送をお願いしたところ、即応していただいたようで、翌日には届いた。
It is a temple of the Shingon Risshu sect that was introduced by Emperor Shomu and Kaisan Gyoki during the Kamakura period. The mountain behind the precincts is said to be the ruins of Taharaguchi Castle built in the Middle Ages. The main hall is an important cultural property in the Kamakura period, but it was dismantled and repaired by the Nara Prefectural Board of Education and Cultural Properties Preservation Office from 2012 to 2016, and measures for land subsidence were taken in the process. In addition, a survey of the colored paintings drawn in the hall was conducted along with the dismantling and repair, and it seems that the restored imaginary drawing has been released.

Worship on 20/11/06. I went out aiming for the colored paintings drawn in the hall, but it seemed that I was absent. Because it is on a hill, you can see the city of Ikoma.
I visited Revenge on 21/09/28, but like last time, the temple seemed to be absent. When I asked for the red stamp to be mailed, it seemed that they responded immediately, and it arrived the next day.
