★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 八街市は江戸時代に下総 佐倉7牧の柳沢牧と小間子牧の2牧が置かれた所です。明治になって幕府の崩壊とともに下総牧も廃止され、新田の開発が始まりました。その新田８番目の開墾村が八街です。このモニュメントは下総牧で放牧されていた野馬という半野生馬の銅像です。歴史的にはピーナッツより前の時代の象徴です。
 Yachimata City is the place where two Maki, Yanagisawa Maki and Omago Maki, of Shimosa Sakura 7 Maki were placed in the Edo period. In the Meiji era, Shimosa Maki was abolished with the collapse of the Shogunate, and the development of Nitta began. The 8th Kaikyo Village in Nitta is Yachimata. This monument is a statue of a semi-wild horse called a wild horse that was grazing in Shimosa Maki. Historically, it is a symbol of the pre-peanut era.
