★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly amazing French restaurant in the Shimogamo area. As neighbors, We regret we haven’t been there before. The Porto sauce duck is a must and the tarte au citron is just perfect. Probably the best French restaurant of Kyoto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simply the best french cuisine experience for me in Japan. As a french, I've always found fake french food at a ridiculous price but here it's the opposite. Real french cuisine vibe with a very kind french cook, great wine selection and the place is beautiful. Heaven for me when I'm homesick ;-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really a great restaurant in a cool location right on the Kamogawa river in North Kyoto. In my opinion French restaurants in Japan are almost uniformly overpriced. Le Deux Garçon is an exception. The food is masterful from the lobster to the steak to the soup. They have a great wine cellar, endless baguettes, and an awesome ambiance. Lunch is good too and you won’t break the bank.
Yes a nice dinner for a couple or a family is going to cost you so save this for a special occasion and splurge. It’s a top ten restaurant in Kyoto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely french restaurant with an excellent service and really tasty food. We really appreciated the "charcuterie plate", apart from the cured ham which comes from Spain, the ham, pâté, mousse de foie, foie gras and rillettes where homemade which is pretty rare to find, even in France.
The selection of mains is wide and various.
Franck, the owner gave us a warm welcome and you can feel the passion he puts on his job.
This restaurant is also very easy to get to from Kita-oji.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best vegetarian in Kyoto! A few veg dishes on the menu, but I always ask Frank for something special (he speaks English, French, and Japanese). Ring ahead. And bring a date this place is sure to impress!

Staff was super friendly, nice and very helpful.
I would just regret that the lunch choice was a bit restraint and would enjoy wider range like their diner offering.
