★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a place to shower and take a dip in the hot tubs. Not bad for what you pay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited few sento and onsen. Most onsen have couple indoor tubes and one or two outdoor tubs with “hot spring” water, which usually has no smell and it hard to tell whether it’s natural or not natural. Other sento I visited were smaller and even if it was remodeled, it still missed its charm. Crowd was bigger and diverse. Not enough spots to wash or sit in bath. Hot bath itself rarely has whirlpool. Cold tub mostly a joke.
Now this one is more traditional and older generation prefers this one. It has two large hot tubs. Both with whirlpool on demand. A bit smaller tub with herbs and ginseng. I called it a tea pot. There is nice deep enough and rounded cold tub and area imitating outdoor with cooler atmosphere and hot “natural” spring. Since water circulation goes through the filters here, it might as well be a natural spring water brought in. Good illumination in entire place. And it has two shower stalls in addition to sit down washing places. Relatively comfy changing place. It also has sauna. Free soap and shampoo. Towel to rent costs 10 yen and that is a good towel. Overall it tops everything else I saw and visited.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best within other 3 public bath places I have been in Tokyo. Cheap and most importantly it is spacious. 460 yen entrance fees , 10 yen for towel rental. I always brought my own shampoo but it costs so little to buy amenities here too. It even has Herbs bath and also outdoor onsen. Been here the second time and will definitely come back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Typical old style local Japanese public bath. A steam room costs extra. You need to bring your own towel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple but good hot spring (onsen). Besides that the price is relatively cheap in the Shinjuku area, Tokyo.
Not too crowded and the place is clean. There are more old people than young people inside.
Onsen entry fee is 480 yen and towel rental is 10 yen. For shampoo and bath soap are provided.
There are many ofuro including dotenburo. There is also an ofuro with the power of the water current which feels very comfortable like being massaged. So satisfying. Unfortunately, access to this place is a bit far if you walk from Higashi Shinjuku Station for about 12 minutes.
