R	Rob Pritchard on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic local bar called Alegre hidden away (small door) on the 3F of a building in central Hiroshima. The bartender makes amazing cocktails and has travelled the world to learn his trade. Highly recommend spending the time to search this place out!!

You can also ask cocktails that are not in the menu, the bar tender is an expert. He can also suggest you other good quality bars in other city around Japan. Also good selection of Japanese whiskeys.

Our host made not just cocktails but a creative, touching and genuine experience for my Girl and I. From the presentation to the tastes, this place is on point. The owner even hand carved an ice diamond for my girlfriend to serve her Japanese ice wine. If you are in Hiroshima for even a few hours, and enjoy superb service and craft cocktails, I recommend hitting Bar Alegre! 5 stars is not enough!

Thoroughly enjoyed about 1.5 hours here and embracing the true Hiroshima experience. Don't be distracted by the 500 yen cover charge. Drinks here range from 1000 to 1500 yen on average so you will even out paying a really good price for an undisputed #1 speakeasy in Hiroshima. Go to L3 of the building and you will find a small wooden door. Go through it, and enjoy your night here!

I ordered a whiskey sour and the bartender made a recommendation for a matcha whisky sour and it was fantastic! It was also beautiful. They also host guest bartenders from some of our favorite bars in Kyoto and Osaka. So follow their Instagram account to keep up with the happenings. The speakeasy side of the bar is also really cool!
