★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointed with this shop. My bicycle was involved in a collision a few days ago. I wanted to have the locking screw of the bent rear rotor removed so I could take the hub back home.
Just to "professionally" loosen the screw I was asked for money.
Then to check the frame I was asked for 30,000 yen, about twice the price of a new frame. And he had not even seen the frame. I had already removed all the components.
I was interested in replacing the rear wheel and brake rotor provided the frame was ok.
But I found the owner unfriendly and only interested in charging money.

I build bicycles as a hobby and built this bicycle myself with Shimano XT components on a folding frame imported from China. I also built the wheelset. To remove the rotor requires one tool and a clamp, which I have at home. Anywhere else would have done that free and then discussed the best way of helping a customer.
All I wanted to know was if a new rear wheel with rotor would turn freely and a new dropout would be ok to change gears.
For 30,000 yen I can even buy a complete new mountain bike. Second hand even better value.
Somehow the "spirit" of the cycling community is missing in this shop. The desire to find a good solution and get a cyclist who suffered an accident in a foreign country back on the road.
So I am disappointed, and the owner missed an opportunity to do business by sympathetically listening to a customer and finding alternatives.
