A visit to Aura Bodyworks will leave you happy, relaxed, and setting your next appointment before you even leave the shop. Harumi is a true healer, and I would recommend this wonderful person to everyone. I miss him terribly since moving away from Japan, and have yet to find a massage half as good as my favorite place Aura.

Having had degenerative osteoarthritis since childhood, my neck and shoulders are frequently a mess, and I had only been getting massages once a year at most on rare visits back to the United States. So I was beyond thrilled when I reached out and Haru quickly made contact and answered all my questions. Aura Bodyworks is conveniently located to Keikyu Shioiri Station and Yokosuka Naval Base. Upon walking into his studio, you are instantly transported into an oasis of calm. Before the massage even starts, Haru will put you at ease and you’ll be asked to fill out any problem areas or issues you would like him to be aware of. I’ve had shiatsu massage in Japan before, but Haru’s magic hands gave one of the best, most relaxing massages I’ve had in the last several years and I am already looking forward to my next massage!

I was lucky enough to walk by aura and meet Haru-san during our last visit to Yokosuka. Immediately friendly and welcoming, he also speaks fluent English and promptly helped me book an appointment. I've always been wary and uncomfortable with male masseurs, but Haru-san is very professional, communicative, and most importantly, he really knows what he's doing. The atmosphere of his little massage studio is peaceful and soothing despite being located right off a main road. His deep tissue massage is pretty brutal, but he knew all the right spots that I needed to be worked on. I can't wait to go back and would recommend him to anyone in need of a good massage!

This massage was well worth the wait. Haru was kind and very talented. He found every tight and painful muscle in my body. I have not felt this relaxed in so very long. Haru reminded me to be positive and let the stress fall away rather than allow it to make me feel ill. I’m so thankful to have been recommended a massage here and can’t wait until my next massage with Haru.

I had my first massage after my boss told me how great he was. I was suffering from an injury, just after the PCS and I was in so much pain. I felt better immediately! I continued to see Haru every week for over a year and he really helped me. I had terrible allergies in Japan and during the massage, my sinuses would clear and I got a lot of relief. I also found that Haru was very talented with reflexology and he worked on some very painful areas on my feet, every week! Additionally, I had an autoimmune condition and I asked him to do the lymph drainage, which always helped my swollen face and neck. And, I suffered from TMJ as well and he was able to loosen my jaw and work on my face. I found that he was great with all the other sore muscles too. I was so impressed with Haru that I sent my son, who was a serious runner at the base high school and he was able to loosen up Hanokh's muscles and helped him with an injury. I think Haru's care probably contributed to my son being able to attain the Pacific Athlete of the Year for DoDs. I sometimes think about flying back to Japan, just to be back in Haru's care! If you live anywhere near Yokosuka and you have pain, he will be the most competent and amazing person you can go to. I think it is also worth saying that Haru's English is great and that he is just the nicest person you might ever meet.

Good energy and vibes in his shop will revitalize your spirit. He knows the trouble spots and get you aligned. He’s got a great story and masterful in his skill. The choice in background music is also key to a relaxing experience. Wish I could get a session in weekly - you’ll wish you’ve gone to him sooner!
