Many Chinese books were kept on display. What attracted me was the exhibition showing the part from which each era was derived.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治5年、廃校となった足利学校の漢籍等を保管するため、大正4年に建てられた。
一時期は足利市の図書館として一般図書が並べられ、小中学生の勉強場所になっていたが、市内に県立図書館が出来たので、一般図書はそちらに移された。
現在、国宝に指定されている漢籍を含む学校の蔵書や美術品は新設された蔵に移され、遺跡図書館は企画展示が行われる場所になっている。
元号関連の漢籍や万葉集、刀剣や掛け軸の他、夏には妖怪や怪異の本や絵を集めた異界展も行われている。
It was built in 1918 to store the kanji of Ashikaga School, which was closed in 1905.
At one time, general books were displayed as a library in Ashikaga City, making it a place of study for elementary and junior high school students.
Currently, the collections and works of art at schools, including Chinese nationals, designated as national treasures, have been moved to the newly established warehouse, and the archeological library is the place where planned exhibitions are held.
In addition to Chinese books related to the era, the Manyoshu, swords and hanging scrolls, in the summer, there are also exhibitions of books and pictures of youkai and ghosts.
