江戸時代から明治時代にかけて建造された、材木町裏石組遊歩道(全長361.2m)があります。
全国でも希少な石組護岸です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北上川にかかる橋。ここから見る岩手山は上流の夕顔瀬橋よりも写真映えする。ここは夕顔瀬橋と並びよ市へ行く人がよく通っている。街灯らしきものはあるが、夜は暗く余り意味は無い気がする。
A bridge over the Kitakami River. Mt. Iwate seen from here is more photogenic than the Yugaose Bridge upstream. Along with Yugaose Bridge, people who go to the city often go here. There are things that look like street lights, but it's dark at night and it doesn't make much sense.

駅から福田パンへ向かう途中に旭橋を通り、橋からの岩手山と北上川が綺麗で行きと帰りに写真を撮ってみた。
山頂は白く雪を冠り、冬の訪れを感じさせる。 橋の中央辺りに石川啄木の「ふるさとの山に向いて言うことなし。 ふる里の山はありがたきかな」の唄が貼ってあり（盛岡は自分のふる里ではないが）唄の意味がしみじみと心に染みる。
Morioka City Asahi Bridge 2020/12/06
I passed Asahi Bridge on the way from the station to Fukuda Pan, and I took pictures of Mt. Iwate and the Kitakami River from the bridge on the way back and forth.
The top of the mountain is covered with white snow, which makes us feel the arrival of winter. Around the center of the bridge, there is a song by Takuboku Ishikawa, "I don't have to say to the mountain of my hometown. I'm grateful for the mountain of my hometown." Stain.
