Alongside Hachimanyama Castle,
built by Hidetsugu Toyotomi,
the castle town gave rise to
Omi merchants and prospered
through their enterprise.
Originally constructed as a tatami shop,
the former Kita residence dates back to 1829.
Watching over the town since ancient times,
the 190-year-old residence is
reborn as Hatago Wakatsu.

ぬるいお湯で、ほんの少しのお茶を、お猪口で3杯楽しませてくれます。茶器や室内の落ち着いた空間を楽しみ、心静かに説明を受けながらいただく芸術カフェ。日吉神社で栽培されている最澄の時代からの日本最古のお茶「日吉茶」がウリのようです。3杯（三煎という）の味の違いを楽しめます。
最後には「日吉茶」のお茶を楽しんだ後の茶葉に「ポン酢」をかけて味見程度に試食させてくれます。
他にはない観光スポットとして楽しむには良いと思いますが、￥1,650と高級で、ちょっと敷居が高いお店です。観光客相手のお店で、何度も行けるお店ではありません。自宅で老後を楽しむ一つの趣味として、引き出しにするには勉強になると思います。
普通のカフェのように、リラックスしながら喋ったり、喉の渇きを潤すカフェではありません。高級なお寿司屋さんというイメージで捉えてください。

With lukewarm water, you can enjoy a little tea with 3 cups of tea. An art cafe where you can enjoy tea ware and the calm space in the room and receive explanations quietly. The oldest tea in Japan, "Hiyoshi tea", which has been cultivated at Hiyoshi Shrine since the Saicho era, seems to be a melon. You can enjoy the difference in taste of 3 cups (called Sanjo).
At the end, after enjoying the tea of "Hiyoshicha", the tea leaves are sprinkled with "ponzu" and tasted to the extent of tasting.
I think it's good to enjoy it as a sightseeing spot like no other, but it's a high-class shop with a high threshold of 1,650 yen. It is a shop for tourists, not a shop that you can go to many times. As one of my hobbies to enjoy old age at home, I think it will be a study to make a drawer.
It's not a cafe where you can relax and talk and quench your thirst like a normal cafe. Think of it as a high-class sushi restaurant.

お茶も4種類ほどあり、価格も様々。
ぼくはレアな1600円の日吉茶を飲みましたが、
これがめちゃくちゃうまい。3煎いただけるんですが、毎回適切な温度で旨味を出して提供されます。
なかなかできない体験でした。
店主さんもとても良い人で、また行きたいと思えました。
