Easy to go from Tokyo. Pretty serine area. But, BUT! it's a small area, if you are planning to spend a whole day, you might get bored after a while. I don't know if they allow you to camp by the river or not. But if camping is possible by the river, great place. Only problem is the curvy mountain roads attacts a lot of loud bikes and cars. They ruin the image of the place I think

It is the entrance of the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. A view of the ravine from a red suspension bridge is beautiful.

Great little spot to swim and spend a day away from Tokyo. The water is nice and cool and you can even jump into the water in some spots just make sure it is deep enough lol.

A good place for a one day trip. The Akigawa valley near Akiruno, closest train station is Musashi Itsukaichi The places featured in these photos are You can stroll through the amazing paths of the tea house garden, buy traditional snacks that are prepared in front of you and also you can enjoy the river view from the cafe on the grounds. Soft creams also available there. Ishibune bridge bridge video is really breathtaking. Setonoyu onsen and Ryushuin temple are near by. Highly recommend this place in the autumn. The band name itself has autumn in it!!

There's a great hiking trail, sith many temples along the way. You can also see wild monkeys near Ishibune Bridge. The views from the bridge are lovely, especially when its bright and not cloudy. After you cross the bridge, tgere's a really great and budget friendly onsen and a souvenir shop. The souvenir shop os a bjt expensive and the souvenirs aren't really unique as such but there is a selection of homemade jams and juices made from local fruit produce that look delicious.

This place is a bit subjective.. If you are looking for a quiet place to chill then this is the place! Specially in autumn and in the spring. I personally loved the place.. I went there on an autumn afternoon.. the place was quiet and beautiful. Takes around two hours from shinjuku. You can have a small picnic into this place also! Totally worth it!

Known for trout fishing, the small mountain town of Akiruno has become a destination for nature lovers and fisherman. The Ishibune Bridge offers a bird’s eye view of the Minami-Akigawa River, has been featured in Japanese TV melodramas, and is a popular subject for landscape photography when the surrounding hills are covered in snow, drenched in autumn colors, or beaming with fresh spring greenery. Check out my video of this area at my Pix4Japan YouTube channel: Akigawa Valley in Tokyo Prefecture

Picturesque valley that's great to cool down in on a hot day. The river (in summer) is perfect, and there were some rocks that kids and people were jumping from. Other people brought tents and BBQs to hang out along the dry sections of the river bed. We bought some food at the market next to the footbath (up the hill) and brought it down for a small picnic
