1945年(昭和20年)の空襲で亡くなった一般人(1,496人)を慰霊する碑です。
明石公園内にあります。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明石公園に明石空襲の碑が有ります。近くには兵庫県立図書館が有ります。
総務省ホームページを調べると明石の最初の空襲は、終戦の年の昭和20年（1945年）1月19日でそれは明石西部にあった川崎航空機明石工場が標的とされたようです。
その後明石は3回にわたって、米軍の空襲にあい6月9日の空襲では、明石公園周辺と明石市西部が被災し、明石公園に避難した市民が被災したそうです。
空襲は6回行われて明石は焦土化となったようです。
民間人を狙う必要が何処にあったのか。
戦争は本当に無意味な物です。
There is a monument to Akashi air raid in Akashi Park. The Hyogo Prefectural Library is nearby.
According to the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Akashi's first air raid was on January 19, 1945, the year of the end of the war, and it seems that it was targeted at the Kawasaki Aircraft Akashi Factory in the western part of Akashi.
After that, Akashi was hit by the US military three times, and the air raid on June 9 damaged the area around Akashi Park and the western part of Akashi City, and the citizens who evacuated to Akashi Park were damaged.
It seems that Akashi was scorched after six air raids.
Where was it necessary to target civilians?
War is really meaningless.
