斎藤朝信は上杉謙信の家臣として軍事、外交、内政とマルチに活躍し性格は温和で領民からも慕われており上杉謙信の信頼も厚く重用されていたと伝わる人物である。
遺構は大規模な堀切などが残っているが東側の遺構など遊歩道から観れないような遺構が多い。しかし城全体は非常に堅固な作りであるのが容易に解る。
なお城跡への遊歩道はよく整備されておりハイキングには丁度いいと思われる。
余談であるが謙信の先代から内乱が多発していた越後において斎藤氏が味方した側は不思議とすべて勝利を収めてきた経緯がある。
なにかここぞという勝負の前には当城に登り本丸の碑に必勝祈願してゲンを担ぐのもいいかもしれない
 The residence of Asanobu Saito.
Asahi Saito is a vassal of Kenshin Uesugi, who has been active in military, diplomacy, and domestic affairs, and has a mild personality and is loved by the territory.
Large remains such as Horikiri remain, but there are many remains that cannot be seen from the promenade, such as those on the east side. But it's easy to see that the entire castle is very solid.
The promenade to the castle ruins is well maintained and seems to be suitable for hiking.
As an aside, the side that Mr. Saito sided in Echigo, where there was a lot of civil war from the predecessor of Kenshin, has mysteriously won all the history.
It may be good to climb up to this castle and pray for the victory of Honmaru's monument before the battle of something here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 道はハイキングコースとなっていて歩きやすい！遺構は曲輪跡がメインで少し空堀が残っていました。
The road is hiking and easy to walk! The remains are mainly curved tracks and a little empty moat remains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 静かな山城。本丸まで整備された遊歩道をゆっくりと登り、柏崎市街の向こうに雪化粧した米山を眺める事も出来ました。
A quiet mountain castle. I was able to slowly climb the promenade that was maintained up to Honmaru, and watch the snow-covered Yoneyama beyond Kashiwazaki city.

しかし..遺構を見ようとすると..山城あるあるなヤブ深いトコをさまようコトになった
東側の大堀切と切岸はかなりの迫力で見応え十分♪
無数の段々々曲輪で形成されてて大城郭だったことがわかる..ような気がする
ヤブって無いときに、ゆっくり遺構を確かめたいとこだったよん

However, when I tried to see the remains... I wandered through a deep toco that had a mountain castle
The Great Horikiri and the pier on the east side are quite powerful and worth seeing ♪
You can see that it was a great castle because it was made up of countless steps.
When I wasn't sick, I wanted to check the remains slowly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 歩きやすくて良かったです。北郭からの眺めが良く、刈羽原発の方向がよく見えます。お城としての遺構も結構残っていて良いですね。
斉藤朝信公の居城としてこうして訪れることが出来て嬉しいです。
It was good that it was easy to walk. The view from North Guo is good and you can see the direction of Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant well. The remains of the castle may well remain.
I am glad to be able to visit this place as the residence of Asanobu Saito.
