★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 冬場は駅までの道が除雪されていないので駅に行くことが出来ませんが、雪の無い時期なら風情あるローカル線らしい駅を楽しむことができます。
In winter, you can't go to the station because the road to the station isn't cleared, but you can enjoy the local train station when it's snow-free.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 乗降するのが躊躇われる秘境感のある駅。そんな秘境感と裏腹に徒歩圏内に大塩温泉（R3年現在、温泉宿２件、共同浴場１件。宿泊施設はゲストハウス１件を含めると合計３軒）があります。気力があればお隣の只見町まで歩いて越境することもできます。また、鉄道写真家の撮影スポット「第七橋梁（通称、七橋）」も同じく徒歩圏内です。歩き回った後は大塩の炭酸水を飲んで喉を潤すと奥会津を満喫できること間違い無しです。
A station with a sense of seclusion that makes you hesitate to get on and off. Contrary to such unexplored atmosphere, there is Oshio Onsen (as of R3, 2 hot spring inns, 1 communal bath, 3 accommodations including 1 guest house) within walking distance. If you have the energy, you can walk to the neighboring Tadami Town and cross the border. In addition, the photographer's photography spot "Seventh Bridge (commonly known as Nanabashi)" is also within walking distance. After walking around, you can enjoy Okuaizu by drinking carbonated water of Oshio to moisturize your throat.
