About Ai
Ai was born in 1984 near Tokyo. Growing up, she wasn’t a good cook at all! After graduating from university, she worked as a banking system engineer. It was during this time that she began to cook as a way to unwind and a form of enjoyment. One day, Ai discovered recipes from her Grandmother, who passed away when she was 5 years old.
From this precious encounter, she became absorbed in cooking. In 2013, Ai moved to Paris and started a Japanese food catering business and taught Japanese cooking class to local French people. Her clients included various embassies and galleries, Grand Maison of Fashion, and individual artists. With this experience, Ai moved back to Japan in 2018 to begin her Kyoto cooking studio.
Ai is able to easily adjust recipes for guests with different food allergies as well as vegetarian, and other dietary requirements. Please let us know in advance so we can best accommodate your needs.
Ai speaks English and French and is also learning German and Chinese!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday, we went to this amazing cooking class. We learned how to cook japanese breakfast. Ai was a very nice teacher and even gave us advices where to buy the ingredients in Germany. We will definetly cook this meal at home!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ai is the BEST cook and teacher! If you're in Kyoto, do yourself a favor and take her unforgettable class. You will cherish this local experience forever (more than the temples
you saw and took a bazillion pictures of that you don't look at anymore and which are all a blur).
Upon entering her immaculate place, we slipped into beautiful slippers and aprons and were immediately treated to some tea and local sweets. We then looked through the packet of printed out recipes we were about to try our hand at. Everything was ready for us to start chopping, assembling and cooking.
At first I thought "there's no way we are going to be able to cook all this in 3.5 hours AND leisurely eat it, but I was WRONG!
The entire experience was so relaxing AND supremely gratifying at the same time.
Ai is wonderfully sweet and engaging, worldly and a pleasure to converse with.
We will never forget our class with her. Lucky us! Now go make a reservation!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my granddaughter to Japan for her graduation. She was allowed to book any tours she thought she would enjoy. In Kyoto we were lucky enough to experience Ai's Cuisine. From the lovely friendly home experience to the wonderful food we cooked, Ai was delightful. I would recommend this to everyone looking for a totally unique experience to book this cooking class. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was in Kyoto last week, a French friend told me about Ai's Cuisine and said I have to go. So I did. Was blown away by how beautiful the place looked, super well designed and cozy. Ai was very charming and welcoming, her English was quite good so I was able to understand all the cooking instructions and explanations about the dishes. Needless to say, the food was EXCELLENT! I will be trying out the recipes when I return to LA...:-) (that Ai gave me to take back for all the dishes) A MUST experience for all Japanese food lovers who happen to be passing through Kyoto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were so lucky to find Ai's cooking class. It was truly an amazing experience to learn Japanese dishes with her. Ai is very friendly and great chef and cooking teacher. She speaks very fluent English and French !! She was teaching Japanese cuisine in Paris. So lots of experiences with people from different cultures. Ai's cooking studio is really beautiful. I was already excited when I entered her cooking studio.
We were welcomed with Japanese tea and Japanese sweet. Ai prepared everything very perfectly for us. There was printed recipe already prepared for us and everything was so perfect.
Cooking time was full of joy, yet Ai taught us everything very clearly and we really feltl we can really cook what we learnt with her and invite our friends when we are back home !!
This 3.5hours was truly an amazing time for us and it made our Kyoto trip even more memorable than we expected before we took the class.
After we had super yummy Japanese food ( well we cooked but because Ai's recipe was so perfect ) , Ai also let us taste a sample of Sake from local breweries that goes perfectly with the taste of Ai's recipe.
