何十年も昔に行ったっけ。
亡くなったオヤジさんが、俺のオヤジと親友で、遊びに行った。
暑い夏の日に、潮の香りがする二階で、子供の俺は目の前に広がる瀬戸内海に、ワクワクしてたっけ。生牡蠣山盛りご馳走になった。1斗缶にむき牡蠣いっぱい、送ってくれた。なんだか優しいオヤジさんだった。
そのあとオヤジさんが、東京の我が家に、夜突然来られて、泊まってってくれた。オヤジ同士話が弾んで、楽しそうに昔話をしていた。一泊だけして、両親の引き留めにもかかわらず、他に行くところがあるからと、帰られてしまった。
それから暫くしてから、オヤジさんが、亡くなったって聞いた。病のことは何も言わなかったけど、お別れに来てくれたんだ。父も母も気が抜けていた。俺も子供ながら、悲しかった。
何十年も経つけど、未だに見上げた顔を思い出す。俺の両親も亡くなって、縁遠くなってしまったけど、呉に行ってみたい。子供の頃の数少ない思い出の１つの平本商店に、そっと訪れてみたい。

Then my father came to my home in Tokyo suddenly at night and stayed there. The old men's talks bounced, and they had fun talking about old times. After only one night, despite my parents' detention, I was returned because there was another place to go.
After a while, I heard that Oyaji-san died. I didn't say anything about my illness, but he came to say goodbye. My father and my mother were bothered. I was sad while I was a kid.
Although it has been for decades, I still remember the face I looked up. My parents are also dead and I have been lost, but I would like to go to the beach. I would like to visit one Hiramoto store, one of the few memories of my childhood, softly.
