 I can overlook the Pacific Ocean. We did not use, but there is resting place near.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 乗り換え時間が短く、駅から南を眺めてこちらかなと推察。いくつか小高くなったところにあの日逃れた方々が居たのかと思うと切なかったです。城が築かれるのも肯ける立地
The transfer time is short, so I guess it's here looking south from the station. I was sad to think that there were some people who escaped that day in some places that were slightly higher. Location where the castle can be built

また、16km先の田代島も見えます。
You can see the city of Ishinomaki from the top of the mountain.
You can also see Tashirojima 16 km away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日和山の山頂付近にかつては奥州総奉行との権力を持った葛西氏の居城「石巻城」があったとの事です。
日和山は石巻港と石巻市街が見渡せる小山となっていて城と築くにはよい立地だったと思われます。
しかし戦国期までの城であったと思われる為に遺構は全く残っておらずに土塁や石垣、縄張りも確認出来ません。
「石巻城跡」の碑がポツンと確認出来るだけで、後は鹿島御児神社の境内となってしまっています。段差や筑地等もどうやら城跡ではなく神社の建築物のようです。
It is said that there used to be "Ishinomaki Castle", the residence of Mr. Kasai, who had power with Oshu Sogo, near the summit of Mt. Hiyori.
Mt. Hiyori is a small mountain overlooking Ishinomaki Port and the city of Ishinomaki, and it seems that it was a good location to build a castle.
However, since it seems to have been a castle until the Warring States period, there are no remains, and no earthworks, stone walls, or territories can be confirmed.
The monument of "Ishinomaki Castle Ruins" can only be confirmed as a spot, and the rest is the precincts of Kashimamiko Shrine. It seems that the steps and Tsukiji are not the ruins of a castle but the buildings of a shrine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日和山の山上には城があったが、顕在遺構は残っておらず、発掘調査によって埋設遺構が確認されているようだ。東日本大震災の時には、この山の南側で津波が止まった。眺望はよいのだが、今ではそれが切なさを感じさせている。
There was a castle on the top of Mt. Hiyori, but no actual remains remain, and it seems that the buried remains have been confirmed by excavation. During the Great East Japan Earthquake, the tsunami stopped on the south side of the mountain. The view is good, but it makes me feel sad.
