M	Michelle Ng on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My friend and I haven’t seen each other for a long while. We both wanted to sit at a bar counter, catching-up while drinking good sake. We both heard that there is a famous sake bar called “Akaoni” in Sangenjaya. "Akaoni" is named as the best place for sake lovers to gather from all over Japan since the time when there was no good bar with a rich lineup of sake. We made the reservation one month in advance of our meeting date. This place is so popular, and it’s very full all the times and is difficult to even slip into the counter. Their otsumami menu goes perfectly with the sake which they serve. The list of sake is mind-blowing. Not only they serve a lot of the famous juuyondai, they also have other delicious nama-sake and unique sake which you can’t find anywhere else. The shop is always busy and getting the waiter’s attention would be a bit challenging sometimes. Just remember to be patient and they will come to you when they can. For tourists, I recommend going with someone who can speak fluent Japanese. It will definitely make the sake experience more enjoyable. 友人と私はしばらくの間あっていなかった。バーカウンターに座り、美味しい日本酒を飲みながら話したかった。三軒茶屋には「赤鬼」と呼ばれる有名な酒屋があると聞いた。「赤鬼」は、良い日本酒が揃っているバーがなかった時代から、日本中から日本酒愛好家が集まる、最適な場所として名付けられた。1か月前に予約した。この場所はとても人気があり、常に満員で、カウンターに入ることが難しい。おつまみは、そこで提供されるお酒にぴったりだ。日本酒のリストには驚かされた。有名な十四代だけでなく、美味しい生酒やユニークな日本酒もあった。店はいつも忙しくて、注文をするのは少し難しい。観光客には、できれば日本語が話せる人と一緒に行くことをお勧めする。もっと素晴らしい体験ができるだろう。

I myself was one of those after a very brief visit. However, the second visit changed my mind. The sake is good, but honestly it’s not super impressive. The food is overpriced for what is relatively average izakaya food. When we went the state of emergency was finished, but inside was really really packed. As if there was no coronovirus. Overpriced and unfortunately overrated. Would not go again.

Around 10,000 yen per person. Mostly cost for the sake. So if you dont drink, can save your trip to here as it is not close to the usual tourist district.
