★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昭和59年(1984年)3月の卒業生です。当時とは随分と変わったんだろうなぁ。パンクした瀬谷小学校と分かれてふた回り位した頃でしたが、一学年約200人、全校生徒1200人で賑やかにやっていました。
西側が空き地で境川の低地を跨いだ向こうは厚木飛行場、視界を遮るものが少ない広々とした眺めは特筆すべきもので、北校舎の屋上から見る富士山と丹沢の山々の景観は、当時の写真雑誌にも取り上げられたほどでした。北側の県営住宅が建て替わる前は、丹沢から北へアルプスの山々、秩父から群馬そして日光那須連山に至る山並みが、快晴の冬には時おり遠望出来て、新宿あたりの高層ビル群らしき影が理科室から持ち出した天体望遠鏡で確認出来たことを思い出します。筑波山も見えたかな。横浜のチベットとまで揶揄された田舎でしたが、高層建築の少なかった頃の高台にある4階建て屋上からの景色は素晴らしいものでした。今はもう、だいぶ眺望は失われたんじゃないでしょうか。
