A lot- meaning "take this!"/"try this!" Whenever a plate is handed to a customer. It was a bit confusing at first but a really fun little custom they have.

Its kind of a sleepy area without much. But we tried Yakitori Daikichi as we were hungry with smaller kids in tow. They were great. They made space for us and the English menus were great. We ordered a ton of stuff and beverages. Everything was tasty. Pretty clear there are a bunch of local folks who patronize the place, they were friendly. Staff was great! Would go back were I in Kyoto again.
F	Frank Fazio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yakitori Daikichi is a little neighborhood restaurant, typically filled with locals that know just how wonderful the food is here. At night you can see a faint glow in the distance and then walk up to find the bright red lanterns and warm light from inside inviting you to come in. Yes, the interior is small, but if you can find a stool or a table, congratulations, you are in for a treat. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you politely ask them questions they are very helpful and they have a menu in English to make ordering a breeze. Looking at the various menu items, I decided to try a good sample of many yakitori skewers; pork belly, garlic chicken, chicken skins, chicken with chopped green onion, chicken with cheese. After ordering, the chef prepares the skewers and cooks them right there in front of the bar, while you relax and sip a nice glass of plum liqueur and enjoy the aroma of perfectly cooked yakitori. This place has the best yakitori that I tasted in Japan during my visit. It is the most flavorful that I have ever tasted to this day. The stuff is addicting and I had to go back again another night during my five night stay in Kyoto. Matter of fact, of all the restaurants that I visited from Tokyo to Osaka, during my vacation, this place was my favorite! If you find yourself in Kyoto, and have a need to try some of the best Yakitori, I highly recommend you try Yakitori Daikichi.
