★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 最近戦後７０年ほど、太平洋戦争も歴史として見られるようになって、改めて多くの本が出版されるようになった。多くはすでに知った事実が多いがやはり「なぜ、必敗とわかっていた戦争に（当時の多くの指導者（軍人、政治家…）の多くは負けることは頭の中で解っていただろう。）突入し、米国を真珠湾攻撃で逆効果で戦争は本当に起こってしまった。桟橋を何十年ぶりかに訪問これを機会に、半藤一利氏や澤沢久枝を再読し当時の無責任な机上の作戦に多くの国民が犠牲になったことを思い出した。最近は「ソ連が満州に侵攻した夏」（半藤一利著）を読めば読むほど、国民を守るべきはずの軍人の身勝手ッさに怒りを覚える。国を守る、とか国民を守るということはどういう事なのか？現在は考える人も少なくなってるのだろうけど、戦後これだけ年数がたつと歴史資料も日本だけでなくかっての敵国だったものも公開されてきた改めて太平洋線層について書かれた本を読んでみよう。この湾の奥にある軍隊ではない軍隊？ハード（軍艦、戦闘機…）では今や世界の五本指に入るのではないだろうか。わたしが子供のころ平桟橋に連れてこられた時代は護衛艦は２０００トン以上は作れなかった。
