★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 三国街道沿いの宿場町 塩沢宿ヘ大雪の次の日に行きました。寒いですね、それとどのお店のも開いていませんでした。人もいなく寂しかったです。やはり冬の時期は駄目ですが街道はとても綺麗でした 雪の積もりかたも半端ない高さでした。次回は夏に訪れたいです。
 I went to Shiozawa-juku, a post town along the Mikuni Highway, the day after heavy snowfall. It's cold, and none of the shops were open. I was lonely without any people. After all it is useless in winter, but the road was very beautiful. The height of the snow was not perfect. Next time I want to visit in the summer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a street on the old road between Gunma and Niigata that has been restored to give an impression of how it looked in the past. It was just a rundown postwar shopping street, so it is definitely improved … also many of the old shops moved into the new buildings. That's why although there are some tourist-oriented shops like cafe, ramen, sake brewery shop, and souvenirs, it's not really super touristy. People looking for something to 'do' may be disappointed, but I found it nice to spend an hour wandering around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite an interesting spot. Well maintained. Interesting shops. Not 100% "観光地" feeling - it still has a sense of "生活感". Only need a few hours. Plan to see with other attractions in the area. Late afternoon might be nice when it gets quiet. Then head to an onsen nearby.
