公共の施設としては、地味ながら充実している。市内の幼稚園、小中学校の子供たちが入れ替わり立ち替わりで訪れる。さらに、上の学生や、町内会での利用や、社会人の利用もある。
入ってすぐ左に、防災カフェという、誰でも自由に利用できる一角がある。カフェといっても、売り子はなく、体育館のを雑に仕切って、自販機を置いただけの空間である。 それだけに、なるほど気軽に入れる。
近所に勤める人が弁当を広げに来るとこもあるらしい。
運が良いと、音楽隊やバトントワラーに遭遇できる。
It is a 10-minute walk from the west exit of Yokohama Station. It is adjacent to Sawatari Park, a scenic open space.
As a public facility, it is simple but substantial. Kindergarten, elementary and junior high school children in the city come and take turns. In addition, there is the use by upper student, neighborhood association, the use of member of society.
Immediately to the left, there is a corner called Disaster Prevention Cafe that anyone can use freely. Even though it is a cafe, there is no sales child, it is a space where the gymnasium is roughly divided and vending machines are placed. That's why I put it casually.
It seems that people working in the neighborhood come to open their lunch boxes.
If you are lucky, you can meet musicians and baton twirler.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 展示物があるようですが、コロナ対策のため、定時の見学ツアーでしか見学できません。 行った時間のツアーはもういっぱいで入り口付近だけ見てきました。
There seems to be an exhibit, but due to corona measures, it can only be visited on a regular tour. The tour of the time I went was already full and I saw only near the entrance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great educational institution for training about safety in the event of disasters. Good hands on exhibits and tour, with books and research computers available. Overall, highly recommended for a fun hour to spend with the family (and kids), and one is almost guaranteed to learn something new.
