Miidera Station - Otsu

It's an unmanned station, but for some reason it has a nice atmosphere. The hydrophobicity of Lake Biwa runs beside the station.

An unmanned station on the Ishiyama Sakamoto Line. It is the first station from Biwakohama Otsu Station, a few minutes walk, but almost all of them are combined tracks. The distance is about 450m. It's a little shorter than Enoden's Koshigoe ⇔ Enoshima, but why is the atmosphere along the orbit quite good? I think it is as good as Enoden. The area along the railway line is apparently a commercial area and a residential area, but there are very few shops, offices, and companies, and traffic and traffic are sparse. Still, it's not a lonely atmosphere, but a calm, Showa-like cityscape that is strangely memorable. (Maybe there is another face on weekdays) It doesn't feel like it's full of taste, but it's wonderful that a small but ordinary train runs on an ordinary road, which is not so ordinary in modern times. I don't feel that it is functioning as a tourist asset like Enoden, but that is also an attraction. The combined track section is to the front of Miidera station. The station building itself is a normal railway station (unmanned station), but it is good that it is equipped with toilets and lockers. The scenery around the small iron bridge along the railroad track just outside the direction of Hiei Yamaguchi Station tickles the heart of the iron otaku. Vehicles on the Ishiyama Sakamoto Line are 600 and 700 types. Both are a 2-car train with a total length of 15 m and a total width of 2,380 mm, which is extremely compact. The driving interval during the day is about 15 to 20 minutes. The Ishiyama Sakamoto Line and Keihan Line are both track lines. It looks like a railroad, but legally it is a member of the tram.

[Lake Biwa Canal] flows beside the station, the view of the iron bridge and the curve is good, you can see the place running on the [road surface], and the scenery that I first came to Lake Biwa for fishing is the same as about 30 years ago. It's been around for a long time, and it's my favorite station. The freshly fried croquette of [Shinagawa-tei] next to the station is also delicious, and in the spring you can see [Sakura] and [Lake Biwa Canal] [Kimiidera] at the same time, and it's really beautiful, and I think it's a really relaxing station.

It is the closest station to Mitsui-ji Temple, but the starting point of Lake Biwa Canal is very close, and the cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn are wonderful. Also, it may have been canceled because it is a corona virus now, but it seems that there was also a tour to enjoy the scenery along the way by taking a rowing boat from the hydrophobic side of Lake Biwa to Kyoto.
