★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 単線のため上下共に1時間に1本程度のダイヤ。無人駅。ガラス張りで見通しの良い待合室。車椅子スロープあり。トイレは夜間施錠なので注意。
Since it is a single track, there is about one diamond per hour on both the top and bottom. Unmanned station. A glass-enclosed waiting room with good visibility. There is a wheelchair slope. Please note that the toilet is locked at night.

北側は住宅地、南側は田園風景という本当にのどかな無人駅です。
なぜ西に金井駅がないのに東金井駅なのかというと、山形市域に編入される前はこの辺りが東村山郡「金井村」という地域だった時に開業し、現在の蔵王駅周辺も南村山郡「金井村」で、蔵王駅自体も「金井駅」だったので、ややこしかったから「東」とついたのだと思います。
数年後どちらも山形市に編入され、金井駅も蔵王駅に改名されましたが、ここはそのままの名前で今に至っています。
The only station in the Yamagata city area on the Aterazawa line alone.
It is a truly idyllic unmanned station with a residential area on the north side and a rural landscape on the south side.
The reason why there is no Kanai station in the west is that it is Higashi-Kanai station. In "Kanai Village", Zao Station itself was also "Kanai Station", so I think it was "East" because it was complicated.
A few years later, both were incorporated into Yamagata City, and Kanai Station was renamed Zao Station, but the name remains the same.

There is no ticket vending machine at the unmanned station. I will buy it from the conductor after getting on the train.
