★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 広島電鉄白島線（9号線）のターミナル。しかし、ターミナル駅のわりにはあまりにシンプル。これが、いーんです。札幌市、岡山市、高知市、松山市、熊本市、長崎市や、東京都の都営荒川線などの残存する路面電車路線と比較してそう見劣りするものではないんで内科医？
1912年11月23日開業の白島線(当時は常磐橋線）は白島と広島の中枢エリアの八丁堀を結ぶ1.2km、5駅の短い路線。2013年2月15日から八丁堀を超えて江波までの直通運転もするようになったんじゃと。
1945年の原爆投下により全面不通。
1952年前線復旧。
2007年には広島商工会議所から路線の廃止が提言されたそうな。しかし、しぶとく生き残っている。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ほぼ、線内折り返し運行が続く白島線。その枝線の簡素な終点停留所。周辺の街並みは凡百な風景なのだが、この簡素な終点停留所の存在で、俄然魅力的な街に思える。特に夜は印象深い。
