Nationally designated historic site. The museum, which was built to imitate the bansho, is spectacular. Exhibits are also substantial.

One of the three major stations in the Edo period. It is a key point of Nakasendo.
Kiso Fukushima's officialship is considered as the jurisdiction of the Owari clan, it seems that the illegal going out of wood was severely condemned in addition to the entering gun and daughter. Along with the Yamamura household material who was a substitute proxy for a long time, there is a commentary on the voice guide, which is quite interesting exhibition. Also, there was only Tatsukoji village among mountain villages, there were bills issued for local people, and it was also interesting to take flexible measures for the Edo period.

It is one of Japan's four major barriers.
"Usui, Hakone, Arai, Fukushima" Today, I visited the second barrier after Hakone.
550 yen including the admission fee of the nearby Yamamura Daikan Yashiki.
The lady at the reception was kind enough to open the map in the pamphlet and explain various things with my pen in one hand, and I could hear the water flow of the Kiso River flowing right next to the surrounding mountains. Good
The warm heart of the countryside...
The inside of the barrier was open, and the outside was so cool that I thought it would be air-conditioned even in the midsummer sun.
The materials are very substantial and the facilities I have visited so far
It wasn't like everything was in the glass case, it was really different from sitting on a tatami-matted desk.
And then, in the popular part of the role of Sekisho, in the "visit note"
I was able to keep a book.
It may be that they were only themselves without being firm, but I was caught by the illusion that I came to stay at the inn for a moment lol
It is a nice facility where you can stay slowly.

A maiden in a gun
As with the checkpoints in other areas, various interrogation goods that were quite strict were exhibited.
There were various things such as old books and old books, but among them, the big old fan
It seems that it was used to prevent the spread of fire in the event of a fire, but this uchiwa was very strong and splendid, and I was impressed with the skill of the old craftsmen.
The Fukushima Sekisho is located on a straight road with steep cliffs, so you need to park your car in the free parking lot under the cliff and walk a little to the top.

You can see the important barrier of Nakasendo.
Think about it during the Edo period.
The explanation of the aunt at the reception was already so kind that it was exhibited ◎
By the way, it will be cheaper if it is a set ticket with the Daikanyashiki.
The temperature inside the building is -1 ℃ in winter!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Described as a must see on some travel sites but frankly it is not much to see. Prob has significant historical value as it was one of the checkpoints along the nakasendo trail used to traverse kyoto Tokyo. Can finish in 20mins tops.
It was raining when we visited and the staff at the counter was SO HELPFUL and helped us call a cab to get back to the train station so kudos for that!
